Helsinki Challenge is a science-based idea competition launched to celebrate the 375th anniversary of the University of Helsinki. The competition highlights innovative ideas and the teams behind them. The accelerator programme, which started at the beginning of 2015, will offer the 20 semi-finalists a unique opportunity to develop their ideas further. The competition prize of 375,000 euros will be presented at an international gala to take place in November 2015.

In her presentation Kirsti will concentrate on an entirely new way for a university to celebrate an anniversary by looking into the future. She will describe the learning process, which combines the science community and students of the University of Helsinki for intensive interaction with different societal actors, both locally and globally.

Helsinki Challenge will permanently change the way the University of Helsinki will communicate science to its stakeholder.
