The NUAS Communication Conference (NUASkom) is a network conference with the premise that there should be extensive dialogue and room for discussions and exchange of experience. At our last conference, about 20 per cent of the participants contributed to the programme, and approximately 30 per cent of the participants had previously attended.
The conference targets communication staff at universities in the Nordic countries and the participants come from all over Scandinavia. The conference covers many different aspects, such as internal communication, research communications, digital and social media, recruitment of students, crisis communication, media relations, branding etc.
This year the conference is mainly held in English in order to accommodate Icelandic and Finnish conference participants and any other participants who might not understand or speak Scandinavian. Some presentations may also be held in Scandinavian, but at those times there will be alternative sessions in English.
There is no specific theme for the conference, as our main objective is to present good cases that can serve as examples and food for thought.
The conference takes place every 18 months and we alternate between different countries and capitals/regions. The most recent conferences were held in Uppsala, Reykjavik, Tromsø, Helsinki and Aarhus.
We expect up to 300 participants. The conference takes place on 14-16 June 2015 at Karolinska Institutet, in Stockholm.
The aim of the Nordic Association of University Administrators (NUAS) is to ensure more efficient universities and to strengthen fellowship between the administrative staff at the Nordic universities. NUAS also aims to advance the expertise of administrative staff at the universities, to increase familiarity with good administrative practice, and to enhance contacts and establish networks between the Nordic universities at all administrative levels. At present, 62 Nordic universities are members of NUAS.
